The Mosedale Horseshoe is one of the classic high walking routes in the Lake District. It’s a committing, good mountain day out and that post-walk ale will be more savoured than usual on completing the circuit. As with all Wasdale and Ennerdale fells, the changing views are tremendous in clear conditions. Viewed from the flank of Lingmell, high above Wasdale Head, the route stands out in fine relief. I took the image on the Fuji 90mm lens, I wanted the extreme wide angle to draw in as much of the scene as possible to illustrate the context of the Mosedale Horseshoe within the surrounding fells with Yewbarrow and Kirk Fell guarding the Mosedale valley entrance.
