UK Landscape Photographer: Heacham, Norfolk

Sometimes less is best.  I watched the tide coming in as the sun sank into the horizon and the groynes were covered by the rapidly rising water, leaving only the marker posts standing proud.  With such a wide angle lens as the 90mm Fujinon it was possible to include 2 or 3 of these posts in the frame, but after a bit of experimentation with composition whilst looking through the detachable external viewfinder, I decided on a single post placed on the right hand third.  It’s one of the benefits in having a detachable finder, you can detach it and easily work out which is the best view or composition.  It was a perfectly still and tranquil evening and in this part of north Norfolk you can be on the east coast watching the sun go down!
